Close to Seven is the fifth studio album from German singer Sandra, released in 1992.[1]
Because of the overwhelming success of Enigma, and an almost two-year break after Paintings in Yellow, there was a gap in Sandra's career, which was finally closed, with this album. The album continued a development towards a more meditative, less dance-oriented musical style. Sandra wanted to get rid of her teen idol image and perform for a more mature audience. This was her first album produced almost completely by Michael Cretu. Close to Seven became another German Top 10 album. The male vocals were sung by Andy Jonas, also known as Andy "Angel" Hart.

"Don't Be Aggressive" (with the music video directed by Howard Greenhalgh) entered the European Top 20, being the first single off the album and the sole one to be a hit worldwide.
"I Need Love" was then released as the second single in April 1992, with "Shadows" as B-side, a cover version of Michael Cretu's song "Shadows Over My Head" from his 1979 solo album Moon, Light & Flowers. It was the first single after "Japan Ist Weit" for Sandra to not succeed nor go anywhere on the charts. Nevertheless, Sandra and Michael were recognized as the most successful married couple and were awarded with the Golden Europe Award in 1992. "I Need Love" was remixed in 1995 and included on Sandra's sixth studio album Fading Shades.[9]
Finally, "Steady Me" was released in June 1992 as a promotional single in Germany only.[10]
"No Taboo", originally released only as a track from the album, was re-released as a promotional single in 2000, only in Germany, from Sandra's 1999 double-album CD My Favourites.
